Full Timeline

1996–2000

Early High-End Heating Applications

Before the establishment of Groundsun, the company’s predecessor had already served high-end heating and heat exchange applications in Beijing, including projects such as Zhongnanhai and Beijing Hotel.
These early applications focused on improving heat exchange capacity within limited equipment volume, forming the practical starting point of Groundsun’s long-term focus on enhanced heat transfer.

2001–2005

Foundation & Early Development

Groundsun was established in 2001 and entered the basic chemical industry, including nitrogen fertilizer and soda ash applications.
During this period, the company built its initial technical and manufacturing foundation through applications in basic chemicals, combined heat and power, and early petrochemical projects. Its corrugated tube heat exchangers were applied in ammonia condensers, heat network heaters, petrochemical condensers, and other process equipment.
In 2004, Groundsun’s products were exported with a process package for the Kungrad Soda Plant in Uzbekistan, marking an early international application of the company’s heat exchange products. In 2005, the company also became the Chinese manufacturer of condensers for GRAHAM, further strengthening its manufacturing capability for demanding industrial applications.

2006–2012

Core Technology Establishment & Petrochemical Validation

Building on earlier R&D work, Groundsun obtained patent protection for its porous coated high-flux tube technology and completed industrial validation in large-scale petrochemical units.
The company’s high-flux heat exchangers were successfully applied in million-ton ethylene plants, validating enhanced heat transfer performance under large-scale petrochemical operating conditions. It later entered PDH applications, where high-flux heat exchangers helped replace imported equipment in critical process units.
This stage established Groundsun’s core technical position in enhanced heat transfer and marked its transition from general industrial applications to complex refining and petrochemical processes.

2013–2017

Expansion Across Process Industries

Groundsun extended its enhanced heat transfer applications into increasingly complex process industries, including MTO, modern coal chemical, coal-to-ethylene glycol, and other large-scale chemical process units.
During this period, the company expanded from single-product application to broader process solution capability. It also strengthened its engineering design, equipment optimization, and manufacturing capacity, enabling the company to serve more demanding process conditions across different industries.

2018–2022

Advanced Applications
& Technology Recognition

Groundsun further expanded into chemical new materials and advanced process applications. Its falling film evaporation system was applied in DMC units, and its high-flux heat exchangers were used in large-scale EO/EG plants, including applications under international process packages.
The company deepened cooperation with international technical organizations and process licensors, while its core enhanced heat transfer technologies gained recognition for their contribution to energy efficiency, low-carbon development, and industrial sustainability.

2023–Present

Capital Market
& Global Expansion

Following its listing on the Beijing Stock Exchange, Groundsun enhanced its financial strength, production capacity, and operational platform.
The company continued to expand into global markets and international process-package applications, working with leading EPCs and technology licensors. It also established a regional presence in the Middle East to support overseas business development and serve international customers more directly.

Key Milestone

1996–2000

High-End Heating Applications

Groundsun’s predecessor served high-end heating and heat exchange projects in Beijing, including Zhongnanhai and Beijing Hotel.

These early projects reflected the company’s initial capability in improving heat exchange performance within limited equipment space, forming the earliest practical foundation for its later focus on enhanced heat transfer.

2001

Entry into Basic Chemical Applications

Corrugated tube heat exchangers entered nitrogen fertilizer and soda ash applications, including ammonia condensers and soda ash process equipment.

This marked Groundsun’s transition from heating applications into industrial process systems, where heat transfer performance, operating stability, and equipment reliability became increasingly critical.

2002–2003

Expansion into Power and Petrochemical Applications

Groundsun’s heat exchange products were applied in combined heat and power systems and early petrochemical process units, including heat network heaters and condensers for petrochemical applications.

This stage broadened the company’s application base from municipal and heating systems to continuous industrial process operations.

2004

Early International Application

Groundsun’s corrugated tube heat exchangers were exported with a process package for the Kungrad Soda Plant in Uzbekistan.

This represented an early overseas application of the company’s products and demonstrated that its heat exchange equipment could be integrated into process-package-based international projects.

2008

Large-Scale Petrochemical Validation

High-flux heat exchangers were applied in million-ton ethylene plants, including major ethylene projects such as Tianjin, Zhenhai, Fujian Refining & Petrochemical, and SECCO.

This was a key industrial validation of Groundsun’s enhanced heat transfer technology in large-scale petrochemical operations, proving its reliability under demanding process conditions.

2012

Application in PDH Units

High-flux heat exchangers were applied in large-scale PDH units, supporting import substitution in critical process equipment.

This milestone demonstrated Groundsun’s ability to replace imported equipment in demanding petrochemical process units and further strengthened its position in high-efficiency industrial heat transfer.

2014–2015

Entry into Modern Coal Chemical Applications

Groundsun’s high-flux heat exchangers were first applied in coal-to-olefins units, and its high-vacuum condensers were later applied in coal-to-ethylene glycol units.

These applications expanded Groundsun’s enhanced heat transfer capability from refining and petrochemical processes into modern coal chemical industries, supporting large-scale and energy-intensive process systems.

2018

Entry into Chemical New Materials

Groundsun’s falling film evaporation system was applied in DMC units, including large-scale chemical new materials projects.

This marked the company’s expansion into higher-value chemical new materials applications, where process efficiency, thermal control, and equipment integration are central to production performance.

2019

EO/EG Process-Package Application

Groundsun’s high-flux heat exchangers were applied in a 1-million-ton-per-year EO/EG unit under SD’s process package, replacing imported equipment in a major international process-technology scenario.

This milestone showed that Groundsun’s enhanced heat transfer technology could be integrated into advanced process packages and recognized in highly demanding chemical process applications.

2022–Present

Broader Technology Application and Global Expansion

Groundsun continued to expand its technology applications into caprolactam, LNG cold energy utilization, nuclear-related heat transfer research, overseas projects, and emerging applications such as data center cooling and new energy thermal management.

This stage reflects the company’s ongoing evolution from a heat exchanger manufacturer into a broader provider of industrial heat transfer solutions, applying its core design and engineering capability across more industries, processes, and global markets.
